Dehradun. Additional Chief Secretary Om Prakash as part of anti-encroachment drive to demolish illegal encroachments and illegal constructions on footpaths, lanes and roads in Dehradun city on Monday, 44 illegal encroachments were demolished by 364 workers. A total of 305 encroachments were identified by 1093 workers and a building was sealed by 78 workers. Om Prakash said that Padmawati Nursing Home which was being run in a residential building was sealed.
Additional Chief Secretary Om Prakash said that demolition drive against illegal encroachments is being conducted on the main roads of the city. He said that later, the drive to remove illegal encroachments will be undertaken in the lanes and footpaths. Later, the demolition of illegal encroachments on the banks of river Rispana will be started. He said that the number of illegal encroachments on public land is much more. He said that efforts are being made to complete the demolition drive against illegal encroachments on scheduled time as per the orders of the Honorable High court.
Additional Chief Secretary Om Prakash said that demolition drive against illegal encroachments at Jogiwala chowk and nearby areas, Raipur and Sahastradhara main road under Dehradun Municipal Corporation jurisdiction will be done in a time bound and phased manner. He said that demolition drive against illegal encroachments in Dalanwala and lanes of Paltan Bazar will also be taken up. Om Prakash said that if there is need for more workers for demolition drive against illegal encroachments then Chief Secretary will be requested to requisition workers from other districts.
